CITGO RACING'S DAYTONA TEST
Duno
and Carpentier prepare for 2007 Rolex 24 At
Daytona
November 9, 2006, Los Angeles, CA...Milka Duno and Patrick Carpentier
tested
in their #11 CITGO Pontiac Riley earlier this week in preparation for
the
Rolex 24 At Daytona on January 27 and 28, 2007. The two-day test session
offered CITGO Racing seven hours each day to practice on the 3.56-mile
road
course at Daytona International Speedway in Daytona Beach, FL.
During Monday's test session Carpentier was able to take the #11 CITGO
Pontiac Riley to third-fastest and also delivered the fifth-quickest
lap in
Tuesday's morning session.
Milka Duno
"It was great to be back in the garage and on the track - and the team
was
exceptional. We had some really good lap times and everything seems
to be
coming along very nicely. I was able to score my best lap time ever
at
Daytona in this test. Patrick and I got to spend a lot of time working
together and with the team and the synergy is very good. The team worked
very hard in preparation for this test and our results showed that
and we're
looking forward to building on our success with the Daytona test at
our next
test at Homestead."
Patrick Carpentier
"It went really well and I'm very happy about how the day went on Monday.
The car is very good and it was a lot of fun and we ran some good times.
For
the first open test with the team it was fantastic. As always, it is
a
pleasure to drive with Milka. On Tuesday I did some laps in the morning
-
but didn't run too much. There was a bit of traffic so I don't know
where we
ended up with lap times. Obviously, I am very happy and looking forward
to
the next test at Homestead in December."
