Milka Duno: Sonoma Race Report

LOS ANGELES, CA (August 23, 2010) – In her last road course race of the 2010 IndyCar Series Championship at Infineon Raceway on Sunday, August 22, Milka Duno finished 22nd.

A lengthy green-flag pit stop to fix the car’s radio in the very early laps of the 75-lap race put Duno 5 laps down. Back on the track, Duno consistently met the series’ requirements for time and speed – but additional green-flag stops would continue to put her further behind with no hope of regaining the lost laps. The series requires that competitors maintain a time within 107% of the race leader – which Milka accomplished and for the majority of the race she was within 105%.

“It was a difficult day for us and the loss of position due to the green flag stops was very disappointing,” said Duno. “Nonetheless, everyone continued to work very hard and we were all very determined to meet the requirements placed on us – and we did. I think that we all look forward to getting back on the ovals and I’m excited about our next race at Chicagoland on August 28.”
