Duno Nominated for Premios Juventud Award in Sports

LOS ANGELES, CA (May 28, 2009) - Just days after completing her third consecutive Indy 500 IndyCar Series driver Milka Duno, the first Hispanic female in history to compete in the Indy 500 and IndyCar Series, was nominated for Univision's 2009 Premios Juventud award in the Deportes (Sports) category.

Premios Juventud (which means 'Youth Awards') is an awards show for Spanish-speaking celebrities in the areas of film, music, sports, fashion and pop culture and is presented by the Spanish-language television network Univision. Awards winners will be determined by online voting.

This year's live broadcast of Premios Juventud will take place on July 16 from Miami. A special webpage is now open on Univision.com and fans worldwide can now vote for their favorite Spanish-speaking celebrity.

The Univision network is one of the top five networks in America regardless of language and the #1 Spanish-language broadcast television network in the US.

Duno is the first and only Hispanic female driver in the Indy 500 and IndyCar Series and she competes with the Dreyer & Reinbold racing team in the #23 CITGO-sponsored car. In the 2008 IndyCar Series season finale at Chicagoland Speedway Duno became the first Latina in history to lead an IndyCar race. She also led the most race laps of any female driver during the 2008 season and was the only female driver to finish at the 2008 Indy 500.

Off the track, Duno is a certified Naval Engineer who holds four master's degrees, earning the last three simultaneously. Duno is also working through her "Milka Way" program to inspire youths to "Aim for the Stars' and achieve academic excellence. Duno appeared in the May, 2008 Warner bros. film "Speed Racer."
