MILKA DUNO TO RACE FIRST ROAD COURSE WITH INDYCAR SERIES AT CAMPING WORLD GRAN PRIX AT THE GLEN JULY 6

WATKINS GLEN, NY (July 5, 2008) – Just as history marks the upcoming Independence Day weekend, Milka Duno will make her own historical debut as she takes to the legendary 3.4-mile road course at Watkins Glen International on Sunday, July 6.  This will be Duno’s first road course with the IndyCar Series, racing in her #23 CITGO Racing Dallara Honda.  The race will air at 3:30 p.m. EST on ABC.

“I am very excited to race my first road course with this car,” said Duno.  “Even though I didn’t have practice time with the IndyCar race car and only completed 50 laps at the Sebring test earlier in the season, I hope everything goes well.  I know the Dreyer Reinbold team did a very good job last year on this track.”

The Camping World Gran Prix at The Glen is celebrating its 60th Anniversary of racing in Watkins Glen.  The 60-lap event features a legendary 3.4-mile road course.  This will be Duno’s sixth race with the IndyCar Series.  Her next race is Nashville Superspeedway on July 12.

Duno is the only female Hispanic to be racing in the IndyCar Series and was the only female driver to finish at the 2008 Indianapolis 500.  Her list of accomplishments in racing is as important as her vast education.  Duno is a certified Naval Engineer who holds four master’s degrees.

Off the track, Duno appeared in the May 2009 released Warner Bros. movie, “Speed Racer” and launched a new, bilingual children’s book, “Go, Milka, Go!”  Copies will be sold throughout the weekend at The Glen’s main retail area, The Pyramid.
