MILKA DUNO SCHEDULED TO RACE IN THE 24 HOURS OF DAYTONA JANUARY 26-27, 2008

Daytona Beach, Fla. (January 18, 2008) – IndyCar Series driver and member of Team SAMAX, Milka Duno, will take to the Daytona International Speedway for the Grand-Am Rolex Sports Car Series presented by Crown Royal Cask No. 16 in Daytona, Fla. January 26-27, 2008.  Milka’s Rolex Series achievements include three overall wins, seven podium appearances, ten top-five finishes and twenty-six top-ten finishes.

“We’re excited to be here to kick off Milka’s 2008 racing season and join the other racing superstars from around the world,” said Peter Baron, SAMAX team principal.  “This will be Milka’s sixth time racing in the 24 Hours of Daytona, which is an incredibly popular event for motorsports fans.”  Milka will be racing five times in the Daytona Prototype and one time in the GTS class with a Viper Car in the 24 Hours of Daytona.

Starting in 2004 and continuing through the 2006 season, Milka was the only full season female driver in the highest category of the Grand American Rolex Sports Car Series – the Daytona Prototype class.  In 2004, her first season in the series, Milka became the first woman in history to win a major international sportscar race in North America by capturing the overall win at the Grand Prix of Miami.  She followed that victory with her second overall win at the same track seven months later.  In 2005 Milka scored her third career Rolex Series win.

In her first race of the 2007 season, Milka was one of the drivers of the teams that scored a second place finish in the 24 Hours of Daytona – earning the highest finish ever by a female driver in the 45-year history of the race – and the highest finish ever by a female driver in a major race at the Daytona circuit.

The Rolex Series showcases emerging and legendary drivers from around the globe and thoroughbred racing machines from the industry's leading constructors and the world's top automobile manufacturers.

CANTV, based in Caracas, Venezuela, is the principal phone company in Venezuela.  The company has been Milka’s sponsor for nine years, and they also support another Venezuelan sportsman and several sports activities in Venezuela.  As of May 22, 2007, CANTV is owned by the Government of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela.  For more information, please visit www.cantv.com.ve.
