MANA Recognizes Latinas Achieving "Firsts"at Las Primeras® Awards Gala in Washington, DC

September 19, 2006 Los Angeles, CA -  CITGO Racing's standout female race
car driver Milka Duno will receive MANA's 2006 Las Primeras® Award in the
Sports Category.  MANA, A National Latina Organization, will host its 17th
Annual Las Primeras® Awards Gala on Thursday, October 5, 2006, at the
National Museum of Women in the Arts in Washington, DC. Las Primeras® honors Latinas who have achieved "firsts" in their career or field.

Talent, beauty and brains are just a few of the adjectives that can be used
to describe race car driver Milka Duno - one of the most successful female
race car drivers in the world today. Milka is a qualified Naval Engineer
with four master's degrees - in Organizational Development, Naval
Architecture, Aquaculture and Maritime Business - earning the last three
degrees simultaneously.

In 2004, Milka became the first woman in history to win a major
international sportscar race in North America when she captured the overall
win at the Grand American Rolex Sports Car Series Grand Prix of Miami. She
followed that victory with her 2nd overall win at the same track seven
months later.  In 2005 Milka scored her third career Rolex Series win.
Remarkably, in only two Rolex Series seasons, Milka earned three overall
wins, six podium appearances, nine top-five finishes and seventeen top-ten
finishes.

"As is true every year, this year's Las Primeras® recipients are all
extraordinary and accomplished Latinas that serve as an inspiration and role
models for Latinas young and old," said Alma Morales Riojas, MANA, President
and CEO.

The 2006 Las Primeras® Award recipients include: the Honorable Iris Y.
Martinez, for Public Service, the first Latina in Illinois to be elected to
the State Senate; Brigadier General Angela Salinas, for Military Service,
the first Latina to hold the rank of brigadier general in the U.S. Marine
Corp.; and Belle Ortiz, for Education, the first Latina to bring mariachi
music into the educational system curriculum at the high school and college
level.
