CITGO Racing Wins 6 Heures du Circuit Mont-Tremblant

Wallace, Duno, and Lammers earn first Rolex Series win of

Mont-Tremblant, Quebec, Canada (May 22, 2005) - For five hours and forty-five minutes in the 6 Heures du Circuit Mont-Tremblant, the CITGO Racing Team worked through difficult weather conditions and a tough field of competitors to find themselves in the third position. But, in those final fifteen minutes, a late-race charge by Andy Wallace resulted in the first victory of the 2005 season for Howard-Boss Motorsports and the #2 CITGO Pontiac Crawford.

On lap 180 of the 188 lap event, Wallace charged past defending race champion Scott Pruett in the Ganassi Racing Riley to move into second place. One turn later, Wallace passed leader Max Angelelli in the #10 Sun Trust Riley to take the lead. From that point to the checkered flag is was "game, set, match" for the CITGO Racing Team as Wallace charged to a 3.843-second victory over the #02 Ganassi Lexus Riley. Those final nine laps were the only laps the victories Howard-Boss Motorsports Team led during the six-hour race.

The win was the first Grand American Rolex Sports Car Series victory of the season for the CITGO Racing Team co-driven by Andy Wallace, Milka Duno, and Jan Lammers. It was the first win for Wallace and Duno since their victory at Homestead-Miami Speedway last September and the first ever Rolex Series win for Lammers.

"It was a wild one," Wallace stated. "It was a great race even though the conditions were very difficult at the start. Milka did a great job keeping the car on the track. Jan did a great job in the car and the team kept working and working on the car during the race. The last stretch was very exciting and some great racing. We've had a tough start to the year and this makes it all worth while."

Duno qualified the #2 CITGO Pontiac Crawford and started the six-hour race from the 17th position. Her entire stint and almost the first half of the race were run under rainy conditions.

"I had a good feeling coming into this race that our luck was about to turn," Duno commented. "The team has worked so hard for so long and we just haven't had much luck so far - it had to change for us at some point. I drove the first part of the race in the rain and it was extremely difficult just to be able to see especially with all the spray from the cars. My compliments to my co-drivers Andy and Jan a for doing an incredible job. But above all - thanks to CITGO and for the entire Howard-Boss Motorsports Team."

"This was so exciting to be part of this win with Andy and Milka," Lammers added. "She (Milka) did a great job under those terrible conditions early in the race. Thanks to the team for all their hard work and the opportunity to be involved with this win. I'm extremely happy for Max and Jan Crawford and everyone who worked so hard for this victory."

The win was the third for the #2 CITGO Pontiac Crawford Team since the beginning of the 2004 season and the fourth for Howard-Boss Motorsports in seventeen career starts in the Rolex Sports Car Series. The #4 BOSS Pontiac Crawford co-driven by Elliott Forbes-Robinson and Butch Leitzinger won at Barber Motorsports Park last October for their other victory.

The next event on the 2005 Rolex schedule will be the Sahlen's Six Hours of The Glen at Watkins Glen International on Saturday, June 11th.
