CITGO RACING'S VIRGINIA 400 PRE-RACE REPORT

October 3, 2004 - CITGO Racing's Milka Duno and Andy Wallace will start 13th overall on the grid for today's Virginia 400 at Virginia International Raceway (VIR) in Alton, VA.

Milka qualified the #2 CITGO Pontiac Crawford Daytona Prototype 13th on the grid in yesterday afternoon's qualifying session. As the qualifying driver Milka will also start the race.

Milka and Andy had three practice sessions to sort the car out on the 3.27-mile, 11-turn course. They faired very well in all three sessions - placing 2nd overall in both of the two sessions on Friday and 4th overall in the practice session on Saturday.

In the final practice this morning before the race the #2 CITGO Pontiac Crawford Daytona Prototype had once again moved into the 2nd overall position with a best lap time of 1:47.319.

"The team has been working very hard to prepare the car for this race," said Milka. "We've been consistently running 2nd overall in all of our practices except one in which we were 4th. But in this morning's final practice we were again the 2nd fastest car in class. I feel that we've got a good chance for a good result today."

"We had a good car in practice," said Andy. "The guys have worked really hard on this car and we should be good for the race too. I'm looking forward to a good race."

The Virginia 400 is the 10th race of the 12-race 2004 Rolex Sports Car Championship season. Milka and Andy are just coming off their second win of the season - the Miami 250 at Homestead-Miami Speedway in South Florida. Milka is currently 4th in the Drivers Points standings, Andy is 3rd and their Howard-Boss Motorsports team is 3rd in Team Point standings - only 12 points back from 2nd.

The Virginia 400 will be televised live on the Speed Channel beginning today, Sunday, October 3 at 12:00 Noon EST.
