Duno Finishes 18th in First Stock Car Race at Chicagoland

JOLIET, IL. (July 21, 2012) – In her first stock car race at Chicagoland Speedway, Milka Duno finished 18th in today’s ARCA Racing Series presented by Menard’s Ansell ActivArmr® 150. It was Duno’s second stock car start on a 1.5 mile oval.

Duno qualified for the 100-lap race 18th on the starting grid and delivered her fastest lap of the race on lap 58.

“This was a learning experience for us – part of a necessary process for us,” said Duno. “We didn’t have the benefit of testing here so it was my first time at the track in a stock car. We made great progress in our practice session here on Friday and even bettered that with our qualifying run this morning but the car was not yet quite at 100% for the race. The important thing is that there are many positives that came out of our time here that will benefit us tremendously going forward.”

“Not the best result that we would have liked to have had,” said team owner and crew chief David Leiner. “We were off just a tiny bit on a few things and Milka did a great job for her first time here. We leave here with many, many positives that will benefit us going forward.”
