Milka Duno Looking to Find Lady Luck at Toledo Speedway

MOORESVILLE, N.C. (May 11, 2011) – After a breakout performance in her first-career short track race, ARCA Racing Series presented by Menards Rookie Milka Duno is ready to finish what she started two weeks ago at Salem Speedway. Although Duno and her Sheltra Motorsports team were bitten by bad luck and didn’t get the result to show just how strong they were at Salem, everyone knew Duno was one to be reckoned with, and she is sure to be on their radar in the Menards 200 at Toledo Speedway on Sunday, May 15.

This weekend Duno is set to pilot her CITGO SUPERGARD Dodge to her second-career short track start on Toledo’s half-mile oval. It will also be Duno’s first time at Toledo Speedway as she did not test at the track.

“This will be another new track for me and only my second short track race but I’ve got a great crew to race with,” said Duno. “We were very competitive at Salem and I’m hoping we can carry that momentum with us to Toledo.”

While Duno will be making her first start at Toledo, her Sheltra Motorsports team comes to the half-mile track with a lot of confidence after she proved her talent while driving to the top-five at Salem before a damaged radiator sidelined her 66 laps shy of the finish. Adding to that confidence comes the experience and knowledge of championship Crew Chief Jon Wolfe and the same car 2010 Champion Patrick Sheltra drove to a third-place finish at Toledo last fall leaving everyone on the Sheltra Motorsports team with high expectations.

“We are excited to get back to another short track after Milka’s strong performance at Salem,” said Wolfe. “We know we have a good car going to Toledo. It is the same car Patrick raced here last year, so we have a lot of confidence in the car. Unfortunately we did not get an opportunity to test here so it will be a little bit of a learning curve with the practice being so short and such a tight schedule. We are still very excited for this weekend and everyone on this Sheltra Motorsports team is looking forward to a strong performance.”

The road to Toledo begins for Duno on Saturday, as the ARCA Racing Series takes to the track for a short practice session from 12:30 – 2:00 p.m. EST. and qualifying at 3:30 p.m. Sunday’s 100-mile/200-lap Menards 200 presented by Federated Car Care is set to begin at 2:00 p.m. EST. Live timing and scoring and audio coverage will be provided by ARCA Nation and the ARCA Racing Network at ARCARacing.com.
