Duno to pilot orange and blue No. 63 CITGO SUPERGARD car in rookie ARCA season

MOORESVILLE, N.C. (April 14, 2011) – Sheltra Motorsports has signed Milka Duno and to run the full 2011 ARCA Racing Series presented by Menards season. The 2010 championship winning team will aim to defend their title in 2011 while making history with the first female driver to win a major motorsports championship. The Venezuelan-native, Duno, will also look to pilot her orange and blue No. 63 CITGO SUPERGARD car to ARCA Racing Series Rookie of the Year honors in 2011.

Duno recently completed her fourth season in the IndyCar Series and is ready to make the transition from open wheels to stockcars. Championship crew chief and team manager Jon Wolfe returns to the reins of his Sheltra Motorsports team to help guide Duno in her debut season in the ARCA Racing Series.

“We are really excited to welcome Milka to our team for the 2011 ARCA season,” said Wolfe. “Aside from welcoming Milka, the biggest excitement is that we were able to keep our championship-winning team together from last year. I am looking forward to taking a newcomer to the ARCA Racing Series and helping to groom her into a contender this season.”

The Sheltra Motorsports team, owned by 2010 champion Patrick Sheltra, and Duno made their debut together February in the ARCA Racing Series season-opening event at Daytona International Speedway where a promising top-10 came to an end just 16 laps shy of the checkered flag after being collected in a multi-car wreck. After such a strong run at Daytona, Duno and team are looking forward to a successful season in the ARCA Racing Series.

“I’m really very happy that this all came together and I look forward to competing with Sheltra Motorsports for the full 2011 ARCA Racing Series season,” said Duno. “I’ve got a great team to compete with and we’ll be working very hard throughout the season to generate good results. The people involved in the series have been very supportive and I have already experienced some of the tremendous welcoming spirit of the stockcar fans and for that I am truly grateful. I look forward to meeting as many of them as possible during the season!”

Milka and her Sheltra Motorsports team make their return to racing action on Friday, April 15 at Talladega Superspeedway in the second of 19 ARCA Racing Series events. The green flag is set to drop on the 3 Amigos 250 at 4:00 p.m. CDT with live race broadcast on SPEED.
